We have released an application that compiles and takes care of everything including the setup of MPlayer, MEncoder, FFMPEG, etc.

Feel free to post any other questions or if you need any help with this application, usage is pretty simple, after downloading the file from here, run the following: :)

    tar -xvzf ffmpeg_install.tar.gz
    chmod +x ffmpeg_install
    ./ffmpeg_install

    Version 1.0
    Initial release

All you have to is download it anywhere and run it anywhere on your server as root, it'll take care of everything else.

What is that? The File seems to be not a script, but a binary.

You will need to CHMOD the file correctly.

    chmod +x ffmpeg_install

    Then try again

I have the same problem. Can't execute binary file. And I opened it with VI. But it looks like Scrambled code.
